Woodland Walk

about

'Woodland Walk' faithfully captures the true ambience of the English countryside at Bayfield Hall Estate in the heart of the Glaven Valley, approximately 2 miles inland from the North Norfolk Coast. This recording was captured Friday 23 March 2012 at 15:57hrs whilst walking along one of the woodland tracks. With nothing added and nothing taken away, the recording is a faithful reproduction of the ambience of the location at that time. Sounds include distant aircraft, pheasant, seagulls, robin, wood-pigeon, minor sound from workers and from the recordist walking through the previous years dried leaves, together with the sound of a distant church clock chiming.

Sonic Field's approach to field recording tends to differ from many recordists by including all sound present at the location being recorded. This ensures the final sound file is a true representation of the ambience of that particular location at the time of recording and not some virtual location produced as a figment of the recordist’s imagination through the removal of unwanted sound such as road traffic, aircraft and other human activities.
